Mission
Our Mission:The Men's Center provides services and programs to help men who are predominately homeless recover from alcoholism and/or drug addiction in order to lead more productive lives.
The Men's Center strongly believes that substance addiction is a largely misunderstood major public health problem. We believe, however, that there is a solution to substance abuse.
People suffering from addiction often lose their jobs, become estranged from their family and frequently become homeless. Individuals learning how to overcome their substance abuse and the problems it creates need housing in a stable and sober living environment such as the one The Men's Center provides.
- The Men's Center provides housing for primarily homeless men, non-medical alcohol detox and drug rehabilitation. Many have gone through treatment before.
- The Men's Center offers safe and clean housing where men can begin the healing process. A life ravaged by drug/alcohol addiction usually requires more time to heal than is provided in typical rehabilitation settings. Our mix of housing options allows us to match those who come to us with the time they need to recover and return to society as contributing members.
- Each resident must achieve and maintain sobriety and attend AA, NA or CA meetings. Six daily 12-Step meetings are offered on the premises.
Accountability is necessary to encourage change. Each resident must maintain a clean and orderly living space; seek and obtain employment, if able; volunteer in ours or other charitable programs; submit to random drug tests; and pay rent.
