Women's Services
While our residential program is currently limited to men, our other services and programs assist all men and women who desire a sober lifestyle. They include 40 open meetings a week, a network of sponsors, an emergency shelter in hurricanes, meals for the homeless, referrals to area housing and many other supportive services.
Women are invited and encouraged to attend any of our 40 weekly program meetings. At these meetings, a recovery network is available to all for support, guidance and sponsor relationships. Women who have achieved sobriety are available to other women at our meetings as sponsors, personally leading them along the road to recovery.
Since 1950, we have shared our resources with other homeless men and women by feeding the homeless. The Men's Center expanded this outreach program more than 40 years ago, and today provides approximately 150 meals per day to the homeless who are not in our residential program.
And during times of natural disasters, such as hurricanes, The Men's Center opens its doors to all men, women and children for emergency shelter.
While we do not currently provide housing for females, we do have working relationships with comparable housing communities for women and offer referrals to those organizations and agencies. Our management and our team will assist any woman who presents a need for housing with the means to find an area program that serves her needs.
