Bernard L. Hebinck
Chairman
Mr. Hebinck is the senior partner in the law firm of Hebinck & Alter. He has practiced law for fifty-four years, including three years (1959 - 1962) as a Judge Advocate on active duty with the United States Air Force. Bernie served twenty-eight years as an Air Force Reservist, retiring in 1993 as a Colonel. Mr. Hebinck serves on the Board of the Men's Center and holds the office of Secretary. Mr. Hebinck also serves on the Board and acts as counsel for St. Dominic Village, Weather Research Center, and Reva's Petting Zoo, all of which are nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations.
Frederick J. Dailey
Chief Executive Officer
Fred Dailey is a Certified Public Accountant and Attorney who has practiced in Houston for more than thirty years. During his eleven year tenure on the Men's Center Board of Directors, Fred served in various officer positions prior to being named to his current position as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. Fred brings years of experience from both his CPA and Board Certified Trial experience including complicated Estate Planning; functioning as Comptroller of a large real estate and construction group; Vice President of a bank in charge of taxation, profit planning and mergers and acquisitions; international taxation with a major international accounting and auditing firm; complex civil litigation, and, as a mediator, assisted adverse parties to find a way to resolve their differences.
Fred attended Villanova University and Delaware law School. He resides in Houston his wife of thirty-five years, Susan Sturtevant Dailey.
Mende Snodgress
Secretary
Mende Snodgress is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works as an Assistant Deputy in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program of the Mental Health and Mental Retardation Authority of Harris County. She has responsibility for residential and counseling programs in her Division. Mende works daily with homeless, mentally ill individuals who have co-occurring substance use disorders. She also describes herself as a "fully recovered lawyer" who was involved in the creation of the Texas Lawyers Assistance Program.
William L. Peel
Director
Bill Peel has over thirty years of diversified executive and senior management experience. He is currently Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer for Tellepsen, one of Houston's premier construction organizations. He is responsible for strategic planning, marketing, client development and public relations.
Peel has specialized expertise in visioning, strategic planning, business development, project planning and delivery. He has held executive management positions in organizations ranging from international architecture/engineering firms to real estate investment and development in both public and private sector organizations.
Peel grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where he attended Christian Brothers High School. He holds Bachelor of Environmental Design and Masters of Architecture degrees from Texas A&M University, where he has served on the College of Architecture Dean's Advisory Council for over ten years.
Peel has addressed audiences both domestically and abroad on topics ranging from visioning to positioning, partnering and market development. Active in civic and community initiatives, Peel currently serves on the board of directors of the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Collaborative for Children, HBU Center for Christianity in Business, and is the Chairman of the Board of Houston Tomorrow.
Alan G. Woodbury
Treasurer
Alan Woodbury, CPA graduated from Rice University in 1965 and started his public accounting career with an international accounting firm. He specialized in computer auditing for small and medium sized banks. Over the years he has worked as CFO for an Oil Company, a Construction Company, a large United Way Agency and has run his own accounting firm for the past 15 years. Alan specializes in serving as a "part time" CFO for entrepreneurs and performing computer consulting and training. Mr. Woodbury has served on a number of nonprofit boards and volunteer positions during his career.
Andrew J. Martin
Vice-Chair
Mr. Martin is a FINRA registered principal & securities broker with a local Houston boutique investment bank specializing in energy, media, real estate and financial transactions. He has been a life time resident of Houston for over 58 years and has participated as a board member and chairman of several 501C(3) local foundations, charities and educational organizations serving the Houston community. Andy has served in a variety of capacities throughout his tenure in these organizations from fund-raising to public relations and special events coordination, to audit and financial compliance. Mr. Martin brings a wealth of business experience having owned businesses in advertising & marketing, financial securities and real estate brokerage along with serving on corporate boards of local private companies. Mr. Martin recently completed a two year term as Chairman of the board in his local church.
Cliff Dukes
Director
Cliff Dukes has been involved in various facets of the fuel oil industry since graduating from Ohio University. He now owns and operates Fortis International Energy, Inc., a fuel oil blending company located in West Houston. He is also the Limited Partner of Develduke, Ltd., a real estate management company. For many years, Cliff has been a very active supporter of the West Houston Community Center, which houses recovery and community support programs. His interests include scuba diving and classic automobile restoration. Cliff and his wife, Allyn, reside in West Houston and have two grown sons.
Robert (Rob) Axelson
Director
Mr. Axelson is a graduate of The University of Texas - Austin, earning a BBA degree. For the past 15 years Mr. Axelson has been a graduate and undergraduate guest lecturer at Rice University in architectural design and commercial real estate development. Mr. Axelson has also served as a panelist for the Urban Land Institute and an instructor at the New York University Real Estate Institute, Graduate Studies.
Mr. Axelson is President of Isis Commercial Investments, L.P. a Houston based firm involved in commercial real estate development, design and project management. Mr. Axelson also serves as a General Partner for other related investment partnerships in the hospitality and entertainment industries. Mr. Axelson is President of The Upper Kirby District's Board of Directors (HCID #3), Vice Chairman of the Kirby Foundation. Mr. Axelson has a daughter, Kelley, who lives in Houston with her husband and two young sons, as well as a son, Mason, a student at Texas A&M - Galveston, studying marine biology. Mr. Axelson's hobbies include casual golf, social dancing and also performing as a guitarist..
